We are back with spring cleaning tips 2 of 3! Spring is a popular time for cleaning out your home and getting organized. If you haven’t already consider renting a storage unit to store seasonal belongings like holiday decorations, snow mobiles and winter sports gear.
Spring Cleaning Tips 2 of 3
- Spring is the perfect time to put a fresh coat of paint on throughout your house. To make it easier to paint, consider moving your furniture into a self storage unit. Self Storage companies often rent units for as little as a month. Giving you time to get the job done.
- Don’t forget the carpets. Thoroughly shampoo the carpets, again moving your furniture into a self storage unit for this can be helpful.
- Clean Mattress and furniture. Don’t be afraid to take your bed and furniture outside for a few hours. Sunlight and ultraviolet radiation helps destroy tiny creatures that might have taken residence there. Bonus: If you want your furniture to feel and smell fresh, steam clean them!
- Go through your seasonal clothes. Clean them, fix any rips and nicely pack them in a box to place into your storage unit until next fall and or winter. Donate items you no longer need or wear.
- Spring cleaning is a good time to repair a leaky faucet, cracked window or broken tile. Repairing the minor problems now will prevent them from be a costly problem later.
- Go through your garage and take any seldom used tools to your self storage unit.
- Deep clean into places where your vacuum doesn’t reach (corners, air vents, window tracks, window frames and trim).
- Power sprayer to the rescue! Use your power sprayer to remove stubborn dirt, bugs nests and webs. Spray down your garage floor. Get rid of any stains or dirt that could get tracked inside.
